Welcome to the birthplace of Central Otago wine. You’ll find us just under an hour’s drive from Queenstown airport, outside the picturesque town of Clyde, adjacent to the Rail Trail.
Monte Christo Winery
Founded in 1864 by Jean Désiré Féraud, the original winery building has been meticulously restored, standing as a rare testament to New Zealand’s 19th-century agricultural history.
Today this heritage building serves as our cellar door, where our guests are invited to taste Monte Christo wines in wonderfully authentic, historical surroundings. Stop in for a tasting flight in our Cellar Door, or book in advance for a Private Tour & Tasting experience in our Underground Cellar.
Enjoy a leisurely afternoon in our laid-back garden, complete with a play area for the children, and a pétanque court.
It’s the perfect spot to settle in and savour culinary delights from “Fritzy,” our cherished food trailer, and sip a glass of wine.
We offer a delectable range of European inspired small plates, pizzas, platters, ice cream and specialty coffee!
